Inventors get a business start
The Department of State and Regional Development is helping launch a new program to assist the State's inventors turn their winning ideas into successful businesses.
A preview of the new program, called Startup stadiumS™, was held on July 31 at the NSW Trade and Investment Centre.
The innovative business program is an initiative of Inventors HQ Australia, which is an organisation that specialises in helping commercialise promising inventions.
Taking inventions through to commercialisation is often difficult as ideas need to be properly developed, designs fine tuned and prototypes built and tested.
Then there are necessary business processes to sort out such as product and patent searches, market assessments, legal protections, marketing plans, development of company structures, finance sourcing, and manufacturing and distribution issues.
Inventors HQ groups these various steps into six development stages to provide inventors with the guidance and support needed to develop a functioning business.
The new Startup stadiumS program will provide extra help by enlisting experienced company directors and prospective directors to help manage and guide inventors' start-up companies.
The preview of Startup stadiumS, to be followed by an official launch in September, featured two companies that had been assisted by Inventors HQ and are also members of the NSW Government's Australian Technology Showcase program, Blixta Griffiths Pty Ltd and Concept Express Pty Ltd.
