NSW technology companies kick business goals

NSW technology companies have again proved their class by securing millions of dollars in export and domestic contracts.

Current and alumni members of the NSW Government-supported Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) program have recorded significant recent results in both international and Australian markets.

The Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) is a national program supported by the NSW Government to promote outstanding Australian technologies in the global marketplace.

Since its inception in NSW in 1997, the ATS has supported over 600 NSW technologies which have attributed more than $636 million in exports, sales and investment to their involvement in the program.

The NSW Government is helping turn innovation into business outcomes and economic growth through its support of the ATS.

Recent successes by NSW members of the ATS include:

• Eight security technology companies that participated in a NSW Government supported trade mission to the United States in September secured over $1.5 million in export contracts with at least another $15 million in sales expected over the next 12 months. Two of the companies - Chatswood company Avalias Pty Ltd (emergency staff training products) and Ultimo company Nuix Pty Ltd (fraud detection software) - have already made return business visits to the US with Nuix opening a Washington DC office and appointing a US chief executive to service its rapidly growing North American market.
• Online intelligence testing company e-bilities pty ltd of Sydney has secured a strategic alliance with a leading Indian HR services provider, Ma Foi, to provide its testing services across Ma Foi's network of 82 offices and academies in 48 locations in India.
• Chatswood technology surveillance company iOmniscient, whose technology identifies suspicious objects in crowded locations, has secured export sales to the BP refinery and pipeline in Azerbaijan, the Spanish Royal Households, 13 airports in the United States including Las Vegas and Orlando, Mexico City Airport, and Nanning City Council in China.
• Mobile payment technology provider Card Access Services (CAS) of St Leonards has secured a contract with Telstra for the supply of its mobile payment platform and portable card reader technology for the Telstra Next-G network.
